LaserTech India 2011, a leading international trade show on Laser Technology concluded its successful 2nd edition at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, Goregaon (E), Mumbai between November 18 – 20, 2011.
The show was inaugurated in the presence by Ms. Claudia Sixl, Project Group Leader for LASER World of PHOTONICS at Messe München International, GmbH. The trade show presented highly promising, energy efficient solutions for manufacturing companies, with particular emphasis on automotive manufacturing, diamond and jewellery processing, automobile electronics, portable communication devices, medical technology and general lighting. The trade show aimed to address the issue of growing demand for sustainable technologies and efficient use of existing energy reserves following the increasing scarcity of natural resources.
It was the second in a series of international exhibitions on “Applications of Laser Technology in Manufacturing” in India and showcased 55 leading Global and Indian companies with their most advanced Laser equipments available for manufacturing industry today. Some prominent companies that participated include Trumpf, Sahajanand Laser Technology Limited, IPG Photonics, Rofin, Laserline, Coherent, SPI, Jenoptik amongst others.
LaserTech India 2011 brought together over 3,500 global and Indian manufacturing professionals face to face with the innovative concepts and products on display.
LaserTech India 2011 had scientific deliberations by some of the most distinguished scientists and stalwarts in the country including Dr. A. K.Nath from IIT Kharagpur, Dr. S. M. Oak from RRCAT (Indore) and Dr. S. K. Sarkar from BARC among others. The Industry focused sessions on applications of advanced lasers in Diamond industry which was conducted by Arvind L. Patel, Chairman and Managing Director, Sahajanand Laser Technology Limited and Automotive industry, conducted by Mr. Dharmendra Nautiyal and Mr. Frank Weust ofTRUMPF.
LaserTech India becomes LASER World of PHOTONICS INDIA
The series of LaserTech India Exhibitions have been transferred by Focussed Event Management Pvt. Ltd. to MMI India. As a consequence, the next event, entitled “LASER World of PHOTONICS INDIA”, scheduled to be held from September 14 – 16, 2012 at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, Goregaon (E), Mumbai, will now belong to the Messe München International group.
Messe München International’s event portfolio, which includes the leading international trade LASER World of PHOTONICS in Munich and the regional trade fair LASER World of PHOTONICS CHINA in Shanghai, is being expanded with the addition of the new event, i.e. LASER World of PHOTONICS INDIA in Mumbai. Messe München brings to India 40 years of experience with events in the laser and photonics sector. By establishing this new business platform, it is supporting increased demand for optical technologies for many branches of the manufacturing industry.
National platform for the growing photonics market
The subtitle of the fair – India's Platform for the Laser and Photonics Community – explains the objective of the new LASER World of PHOTONICS India: The fair will give laser and photonics technology its own national platform and improve its level of recognition in the Indian industry. It will also improve networking between research and industry for the technology’s ongoing development. The use of laser technology promotes progress and growth for various industrial applications in India, and it gives important impetus to research organizations and universities in the Indian photonics sector. The event’s claim – Progress in light – reflects the development and growth opportunities that “light technology” has to offer Indian industry.
LASER World of PHOTONICS on the road to global success
Norbert Bargmann, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Messe München GmbH, emphasizes the fact that the move to expand LASER WORLD of PHOTONICS is reaffirmed by the increased internationality and growing numbers of visitors at the international trade fair in Munich and the regional trade fair in Shanghai: “The orientation of the new event in Mumbai corresponds to the interests of our globally active industry.
